Malawi

Lake Malawi is the jewel in the crown of the country’s tourist attractions, “discovered” by the missionary-explorer Dr David Livingstone just over 150 years ago.

Malawi is known for its welcoming people and inviting Lake Malawi, teeming with a good eating fish called bream, known in the USA as tilapia.

Lake Malawi (also known as Lake Nyasa) contains the highest number of fish in any freshwater system in the world. Over a thousand species of fish call Lake Malawi home, and it is a main source of food and livelihood for the country.
