“Women Travel with a Purpose” will help educate and feed the children

at the African Child Foundation

There is no doubt that women are driving the travel industry. According to Forbes:

80% of all travel decisions are made by women, and there has been a 230% increase in the number of women-only travel companies in past six years.

The average adventure traveler is not a 28-year old male, but a 47-year-old female. And she wears a size 12 dress. (Read Marybeth Bond’s article. She’s the Gutsy Traveler.)

So who’s traveling?

– Many older women are also experiencing this rite of passage.
– An increasing portion of solo female travelers are Baby Boomers and single mothers.

In the July 2017 issue of Travel and Leisure magazine, I found an interesting article on this subject called, “The Big Idea: Wander Women.” There is definitely a trend for:

Women travelers to focus more on personal growth, as well as having fun

Women who want to feel engaged in social responsibility

Women who want to make lasting connections in the places they visit

So with all this in mind, and as a woman who loves to travel myself, I decided to put together a Safari to Kenya in October 2018, for like-minded women who want to “Travel, Feel Good and Make a Difference!”

You can check out the digital itinerary by clicking on the link below.

Many women I meet say: “I wish I had someone to travel with. I don’t feel safe going alone.” So with that in mind, as well as the focus women have on “travel with a purpose,” Jim Holden and I have put together an exclusive trip for like-minded women.

This October, I’m leading a Safari with a very special lady, Roz Berry, resident of Newport Beach, CA, and Director of the African Child Foundation, a non-profit run by volunteers to meet the needs, and transform the lives, of orphaned and vulnerable children. Roz will take you to meet Father Henry and the children from Fanaka and Mt.Olive schools in Nairobi. Put smiles on their faces as you volunteer one morning at school, and another at the Nairobi animal orphanage. These children have never seen an elephant or a lion.
You’ll also experience the world-famous wildebeest migration from a hot air balloon over the Masai Mara.
Interact with the Masai women and their children, visit the elephant orphanage in Nairobi and adopt your own elephant, and much more.
